"Best Stay Ever - You won’t find anything better.  Our BEST STAY EVER!! Fantastic accommodation in a wonderful surroundings. Hosts are incredibly kind and helpful, and can give you great indications on places to visit, tailored to your expectations. Breakfast is delicious and served anytime, as soon as they see you are awake. I told them my wife is vegetarian, and they prepared special breakfast for her every single morning. There is also a hot tub that you can use anytime. The place is just beautiful and is also perfect for stargazing. Beds are also amazingly comfortable, and the room is really well-equipped with a huge TV and cable channels. We just cannot be more thankful to the hosts, they made our stay so much easier!! It was our first visit to Hawaii so we booked at different hotels, but next time we will definitely try to book our whole trip at VMR." 5 of 5 Stars

"Nuestra estancia ha sido increíble!!! Es un lugar mágico. Todo de casitas de madera, muy bien cuidado y con una tranquilidad impresionante. Han sido super atentos con nosotras, llegamos a las 12:00 de la noche para hacer el check-in y nos esperaban con los brazos abiertos. Esta lejos de la zona turística, que para nosotras es de agradecer. La zona en la que esta es preciosa. Vale la pena. Ha sido una estancia perfecta, totalmente recomendable!"  5 of 5 Stars

"Incredible and Amazing! My husband somehow found this place when were planning a trip to the Big Island. We absolutely loved it and it  was exactly what we needed. It was located in a private and relaxing location and felt completely secure. The property is so gorgeous and perfectly maintained. It consists of 4 individual bungalows that are paradise along with a hot tub, various sitting areas and a dining area. The bungalows consist of a king bed and bathroom and it so inviting and updated. We would open the windows at night while sleeping and it was so relaxing with the sounds and darkness. Once awake in the mornings, they would bring us freshly made bread, fruit and juice to start, and this wasn't even breakfast! Then, when they served us breakfast, we ate in the dining area situated in the middle. They served more fruit and juice along with some varieties of quiches and such. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared. The owners, Robert and Scott, were so attentive and helpful when we needed direction for activities on the island. Everything about our stay was amazing and the property is amazing and worth every penny. This would be a great place for a honeymoon or quiet, relaxing vacation." 5 of 5 Stars

Our stay.....what to say......our hosts were wonderful and thoughtful down to the smallest details. Each morning we were greeted with fresh French press coffee, homemade bread and fresh cut fruit....thank you Scott! Our room was simple, immaculate, very comfortable and quiet....perfect atmosphere for rest and relaxation. Robert and Scott made our first vacation in the rainforest unforgettable and I truly appreciate their attention to detail.....in a world of quick, quick, fast, fast, VMR is a breathe of fresh air." 10.0/10.0 Rating

Look no further. This is where you want to stay.

Scott and Robert truly have a little slice of Heaven. The rooms and property are absolutely immaculate.

The landscaping is beautiful. The gazebo and rooms are so relaxing. The coffee and breakfast they serve you every morning is OUTSTANDING. We ate every bite of whatever Scott made us because WOW. Everything he made was incredible. They are also very attentive. I'm not a big papaya fan and they noticed I left my slice of papaya untouched in my fruit bowl the first morning so for 4 more mornings we were there I got extras of the other fruits and no papaya. They also gave us a map of the Big Island and pointed out all big attractions and also a few of their favorite spots. We would have never found our favorite beach if it weren't for them. We couldn't have imagined spending our honeymoon anywhere else. Thank you Scott and Robert for the exceptional experience you gave us. If anyone is thinking about staying here, just do it. Your search is over.

A Nature Lovers Dream and so much more

If you love nature. yet want to step way, way up from roughing it in the woods, here is the ultimate answer. At the Volcano Mountain Retreat, you are truly in the midst of nature with the sights and sounds of wild Hawaii surrounding you. The thick, lush forest is everywhere but in this one acre or so of a garden-oasis comprised of 4 cozy and private bungalows, each with its own lanai furnished with chairs and table for breakfast coffee or just sipping an adult beverage as the sun falls below the surrounding forest. There is no highway noise, day or night, nor anything other than the sounds of nature. Sleeping is aided by a fabulous king-sized bed with a top of the line mattress designed with a comfortable sleep in mind. Each room has a functional LED fireplace/heater (we never needed the heating element) with realistic pictures of hot coals and flame serving as a nightlight if you wish. Each bungalow is provided with bathrobes and slippers so that upon arising you can greet Scott or Robert (your fantastic hosts) on the porch when they bring the perfectly brewed (to your personal liking) Kona Coffee and a fresh, warm from the oven loaf of breakfast bread. A different variety each morning of your stay. But that is only the pre-breakfast. Shortly after enjoying the banana or cinnamon bread comes the real breakfast served just across the lawn at the community, open air, tiki. A breakfast consisting of a quiche or souffle dish (again, different each morning), a large serving of fresh Hawaiian fruit, yogurt and more of that great Kona Coffee. Robert and Scott are great hosts, never intrusive but always ready to help with the days sightseeing plans. They are rightfully proud of what they built in this 7 acres of what we mainlanders call a jungle. They tell of importing a special kind of solid core bamboo from Viet Nam for the construction and clearing the first paths into what would become an oasis in the jungle with machetes and of the many, many truckloads of topsoil to create the beautiful gardens surrounding the bamboo buildings, There is free Wi-Fi and Direct Tv service including HBO and Showtime. My wife and I have found B&Bs preferrable over hotels, being friendlier and more personal. Although we have found many great ones, this one stands out as being the best of the best. 5 Stars are not enough. Thank you, Robert and Scott, for a wonderful stay and experience. 5 of 5 Stars

After spending a few days at a hotel on the Kona side, we spent the rest of the week here on the Hilo side. This was the best part of our vacation.
The bungalows were meticulously maintained. The bed was super comfortable and everything felt very clean. Although we had a flat screen tv with tons of channels, we much more enjoyed sitting on the lanai looking at the lush greenery. The pictures are definitely not photoshopped, it really is that beautiful.
We were provided coffee and freshly baked bread each morning before we made our way over to breakfast. The fresh fruit was great, along with the food.
It is located off the beaten path, but that made it all the better. With only 4 bungalows, it's not loud at all.  It was the peaceful time we needed away. The location also makes it not to far of a drive into Hilo, or to get to Volcanoes National Park. Also, it's far enough away from Kilauea and at an elevation where you never would have to worry about that.
The guys did a great job of making us feel welcome and comfortable, we highly recommend." 5 of 5 Stars

They are eager to accommodate dietary needs, just tell them your needs before arriving. They own a cute cat that joins the guests for breakfast. The room was spacious with a huge bed. Good shower. "WOW! Upon reading all 5 star reviews, I wondered if VMR could actually be that good. Now, I understand... if I could give 6 stars, I would. VMR is absolutely that great. From the gorgeous serene grounds to the private, well-appointed bungalows, to the relaxing hot tub, to the awesome hosts who greet you with a glass of wine upon arrival and tend to your every need, to the wake-up coffee and fresh muffins on the lanai, to the homemade gourmet breakfast, VMR has it all. I was there for three nights and wish I could have stayed longer. There is nothing like it... simply awesome! PS - Robert and Scott, the owners/hosts, do an amazing job and will share thoughts on things to do. The national media hype about the volcano is just that - hype. The volcano actually makes this an exciting and beautiful (and safe) time to visit the Big Island. I suggest an after-dark dinner in Pahoa to see the most gorgeous sky you will ever witness. VMR is perfectly situated to allow you to explore the east side of the island, including the volcano that is re-shaping the world, in a safe and beautiful environment." 5 of 5 Stars

"My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at the end of our Hawaii trip at VMR and they were the best 3 days of the entire two weeks. The retreat is first-class all the way. Our hosts, Robert and Scott, became like family. They were attentive to our needs without being intrusive at all. They created the most beautiful serene environment with amazing landscaping, rooms, and hot tub. The morning coffee delivered to our private lanai followed by a perfect breakfast under the gazebo made each day start in a magical way. We treated ourselves to a massage from their partner therapist (Gabriel) and it was the best massage ever - made even nicer in the serenity of the environment with a cool tropical breeze blowing over my body and listening to the sounds of nature during the massage. All four rooms (individual bungalows) are identical and beautiful. Each has a private lanai with seating as well as a table and chairs. There are gorgeous lounge chairs on the property and both a "living room" and a "dining room" under two separate gazebo areas. Robert and Scott gave great suggestions on things to do and to see, including how to enjoy the awesomeness of the volcano even though the national park is closed. I could keep going on and on... bottom line is that this place and the owners are nothing short of perfection! I hope to go back there again." 5 of 5 Stars

"I just returned from a five-day stay on the Big Island at VMR.  My trip exceeded my expectations across the board.  I’m going to divide this review into two sections: first is it safe to visit the Big Island now, and then my stay at VMR.

The volcanic eruption is isolated to a remote part of the island, the Puna District.  The only indication that something is going on, driving the Saddle Road at night as you approach Hilo you can see an orange glow in the clouds in the distance and you sometimes get a slight sulpher smell near the Pahoa turnoff on Highway 11.  Volcanos National Park remains closed; however, the Kahuku Unit of the park (just about half a mile west of the Highway 11 turnoff for South Point) is open five days a week.  I spent a day there and took two incredible hikes.  You may also hear about the explosive steam events and earthquakes at the Kilauea Summit Crater.  There was one on Friday morning, 6/29, I was sitting outside at VMR at the time it occurred and heard, felt, nor saw anything. The national media breathlessly reported on the current event for the first two weeks, listening to them, you would think lava was flowing down the streets of Kailua.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I don’t want to minimize the huge impact this event had on the lives of people who lived in the impacted communities that have lost their homes, and in many cases, their livelihoods, the area is very rural, and many people raised crops and / or tropical flowers, so not only did they lose their homes, but many lost their source of income. There isn’t a vantage point to see the fissure 8 eruption or the ocean entry.  I decided to book a helicopter tour before I left home, assumed that we would see the lava off in the distance, but would at least have a chance to see it.  I couldn’t have been more surprised when we spent about 20 minutes over and in the vicinity of fissure 8 and about 10 minutes over the ocean entry.  I used Paradise Helicopters and they were excellent. If you want a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a major volcanic eruption, this is the time to go to the Big Island.  Plus, due the sensationalized coverage, bookings at many places are off by 40 to 60 percent so there are fewer people.

Now, VMR.  The reviews are great, even to the point where you wonder if VMR can be that good.  I can unequivocally say that they are true and yes, VMR is that good.  My stay at VMR was wonderful.  Robert and Scott are the perfect hosts and will do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.  VMR provides luxury accommodations in the middle of tropical tranquility.  The bungalows have everything you need.  Probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in with super soft bedding and left the windows open at night to hear the rain and coqui frogs lull me to sleep.  Beautiful décor, a fantastic shower with incredible water pressure and almost instantaneous hot water.  The porch is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the tranquility.  You have WiFi as well as satellite television with the full range of channels and most of the premium services.  The spa was wonderful after a day of hiking.  I would get up in the morning and sit on my porch to catch up on my e-mail and social media.  Scott would bring me my first coffee and delicious breakfast bread or muffins.  We would then decide when I would have breakfast.  Other reviewers have noted, and I strongly concur, that Scott provides gourmet breakfasts every morning.  I couldn’t wait to see what creation he would provide each morning.  The breakfast was so big that I often skipped lunch since I was still full.  Robert and Scott have created a tropical paradise with their landscaping.  If you want a luxury, secluded tropical oasis, then VMR will meet all of your expectations. I also got a massage from Gabriel, their on-call massage therapist.  It was one of the best massages I have ever had.  I strongly recommend using Gabriel’s services.

To conclude, this IS the time to visit the Big Island and if you want to stay in a secluded tropical oasis with personalized service then you can do no better than VMR." 5 of 5 Stars

"We have been at VRM from 21 May to 25 May 2018. A small beautiful paradise on earth. Indulgence is high on them. Luxury and tranquility but especially their breakfast is truly blissful! If a breakfast award could be issued they would definitely win it! Delicious and fresh every day. The rooms are fantastic. Wonderfully clean and equipped with every luxury. In our period the volcano was still active but we did not notice this. The roads to this location are completely accessible and you can go everywhere to go hiking, shopping, beach and watching stars. It is completely safe and harmless to spend your vacation here. Highly recommended and we would go again next time." 5 of 5 Stars

"What can we say about this amazing property to truly paint the reality of its beauty? It's simply amazing. From the moment you arrive you can tell it will be an elevated experience. Rob met us as we drove up to this secluded and hidden island oasis with a genuine warm smile and gracious hospitality. He offered drinks as we discussed the property’s amenities and gave us the lay of this beautiful land. The Retreat sits on 6 acres of painstakingly kept rainforest grounds and it is obvious that their attention to detail is second to none. Their landscaping efforts truly shine as the colors explode with Hawaii’s natural beauty. As we toured the grounds the fire elements and calming Hawaiian music made us feel immediately relaxed. The bungalow was so impressive both structurally and aesthetically. The king sized bed, the rainfall shower, the bamboo roofing and smoothed, poured resin concrete floors were so unique. Listening to the rainfall as we slept to the orchestra of the rainforest made for a fantastic night’s sleep. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! The fresh fruit, the quiches, coffee and juices were the best we had on the island. Joining the others that were staying at the Retreat for breakfast time was a nice chance to socialize and hear different things that they had seen and adjust plans accordingly. Only a 30 minute drive to Volcanoes National Park made it a perfect base camp. After spending a full day hiking and sight seeing, coming back to the Retreat and spending time in the hot tub was a special treat. Rob and Scott made sure our coffee service on the Lanai was there as soon as we woke up which gave us a chance to wake up slowly and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Retreat in private and plot out our day. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our experience. We will definitely be back and recommend this venue to any of our friends going to enjoy the magic and majesty of The Big Island. Thank you so much!!!" 5 of 5 Stars

"My husband and I were lucky to be able to spend 3 nights here on our trip to Big Island. The weather may have been atrocious at times but the hosts were so warm and welcoming. They responded to emails almost instantaneously, gave us a much need glass of wine on arrival, provided us with sumptuous breakfasts (us veggies were well catered for) and offered us lots of advice. It is a little bit out of the way but still only a 20 min drive from Volcano town or Hilo. VMR is so peaceful and relaxing, the chirping frogs at night just add to the feelings of being in the middle of the rainforest. The bungalows are ell appointed, the electronic fireplaces were a nice touch. "We loved our stay at Volcano Mountain Retreat! Located half way between Hilo and Volcano Nat'l Park, it's in a convenient location for exploring the east side of the Big Island. The complex, nestled in the middle 6 acres of private forest, is gorgeous - a cluster of bamboo Polynesian style private bungalows set in a beautiful tropical landscaping. Quaint and charming on the outside with wrap-around porches, the bungalows are spacious, luxurious, and immaculately clean inside with all the modern conveniences. The hosts, Robert and Scott, are gracious, friendly, and knowledgeable about the island. We were warmly greeted with a tropical cocktail and helpful information about what we could see and do during our stay. We were served coffee and freshly baked muffins on our porch when we arose, and a huge, hearty, hot breakfast at the time we requested. And after each day of hiking and exploring, it was heavenly to return to this beautiful oasis and soak in the outdoor hot tub. We loved every minute of our stay at Volcano Mountain Retreat and didn't want to leave. We will definitely return!" 5 of 5 Stars

My husband Mark and I wanted to spend our honeymoon in a quiet, out of the way place. What we found was an amazing place where he and I could relax, use it as a base for our trip, and just be in quiet solitude, away from the crowded tourist areas. Robert and Scott are outstanding hosts. They make sure you are welcome and feel at home. The resort is quiet and out of the way. The bungalows are immaculate and wonderful. The breakfast you get every morning, includes an abundance of fruit, freshly baked muffins, and a gourmet breakfast, which will keep you full until dinner. I don't know where Scott learned to cook, but that was 5 star breakfasts. A welcome highlight of the resort is after a day of hiking, or touring around, there is a terrific hot tub waiting for you. Trust me, we took advantage of it. This is NOT a place for families. If you are bringing the kids to Hawaii, go elsewhere. This is a place for people to be in a friendly environment, and getting away from the world. Leaving this place felt like we were leaving family and home, we loved it that much. As someone who has traveled extensively, I can say this is one of my top places in the world to stay." 5 of 5 Stars

"Wow wow wow!! We can not stop talking about how much we loved this place. We were literally blown away on many levels! We are very seasoned travelers with over 30 yrs traveling the world and visiting over a hundred countries and we still think of this as one of are most amazing finds ever!! Every detail is superb you are truly in the middle of a rainforest on the volcano and you are at this amazing oasis of a Balinese/Hawaii paradise . Every detail is perfection, your hosts Scott & Robert, from the moment you arrive, offering you a welcome cocktail to getting to know you what they can do to make this your best experience ever! The property is one of the most stunning we have ever stayed at, every detail is thought and planned out from the amazing sheets, to your own robe and slippers, and one of the most dreamiest beds under a bamboo vaulted ceiling to drift of to sleep, and then to awaken to coffee and muffins served on your own porch when you want, and then to be invited into the main quarters to have a gourmet meal prepared for you differently each morning. Your hosts Scott & Robert are such amazing hosts that you instantly feel like you are staying at a friends house, being so welcomed and lovingly taken care of. It might seem a bit remote to get to but trust us that is part of the appeal. You will feel like we did, like its the best kept secret and you're not sure you want to share because you want to keep coming back forever and ever. It really is very close to all the Big Island has to offer. Mahalo Scott & Robert surpassed way beyond our expectations and looking so forward to our next stay!"  5 of 5 Stars

"I was there with my buddy. We were warmly received. The hosts received us friendly and cordially. The bungalow was spacious. Has a TV with 100 channels and more, a wonderful special rain-showerhead and a hot-tub spa (accessible outside the bungalow). The breakfast was the absolute hammer. Have rarely eaten at a lodge as good breakfast as here. A freshly prepared fruit salad and a "Dutch pancake" as they called it, and fresh hot tea. The hosts were always available to help, if necessary, were very friendly, and gave us tips, where you can eat well or which excursion destinations you should like and when. The only drawback to the lodge is that it is very secluded, with the nearest restaurant being a 15min drive away. The retreat property is super quiet, sociable and simply magnificent. I would recommend to anyone to stay here. When I come back to the Big Island, this will be my destination number 1." 5 of 5 Stars

"I'm a fan of properties that can be a stand-alone destination in and of themselves, and VMR has been added to my list. Robert and Scott are truly interested in providing a relaxing, ultra-comfortable oasis atmosphere on their land. They are seasoned travelers themselves, and this is communicated through their property. Arriving, you can immediately sense the amount of work and detailing that went into creating this space; placement of buildings that allows for privacy as well as socializing, outdoor speakers and tasteful lighting, a wonderful central hot tub and beautiful landscaping.

The experience is something of a hybrid of staying at a resort, a B&B and a friends house. They are very attentive, but not overbearing. check in about what works for you upon arrival, and they are quite flexible in terms of when you'd like your morning coffee and breakfast service (the best breakfast service I've experienced - different every morning, with lots of fresh fruit).

I'll definitely be back, and I'd like to bring a group next time around! Thanks, guys, for assisting with a wonderful vacation." of 5 Stars

"Great place to visit. Location is great, only 30 min from the volcano. Owners are awesome hosts. Coffee & pastry served to your bungalow for pre-breakfast then serves breakfast later on. Spa is great too. The area is so quiet and relaxing. I needed a break from the city life of Honolulu and the VMR was the perfect getaway. Scott and Robert are awesome hosts and they truly deliver the ALOHA spirit. I want to go back and I've only been gone for 6 hours!!" of 5 Stars

"Was in Hawaii at different sites for nearly four weeks, and the rooms at the Volcano Men's Retreat rivaled any other place my partner and I stayed. Exceptional beds! But on top of that was the graciousness of the hosts. On the first evening, one of the hosts offered to help with some laundry since we had been traveling so much. They washed and folded our pretty rough stuff while we were at dinner and had it waiting for us when we got back, only 2 hours after we had checked in! Then on our second morning when we had to cancel breakfast because of a tour that had been rearranged, they still made us a gourmet breakfast to go, at an obscene hour of 6:00 am. Would definitely stay there again. They were quite kind and really gave our trip a needed lift with their goodwill." of 5 Stars

"Scott and Robert have created something very special here. They have captured the spirit of ALOHA. They are the quintessential hosts. They gave great restaurant suggestions, tour info, and general island get around knowledge. We have made two new friends in them. Geoffrey and I have loved spending our honeymoon here. We don't want to leave. We will be back! Mahalo!" 5 of 5 Stars

"My partner and I had a fantastic time at this beautiful oasis on the Big Island. The attention to detail at this hotel is unbelievable, and the hosts/owners are so sweet, as well as more attentive and caring than at anyplace else we've stayed (no kidding!). We only planned one night near Kilauea, but next time we'll stay longer! Bravo on this gem." 5 of 5 Stars

"A truly beautiful place to stay with a loved one or friends. A serene place to unwind & relax. The location is perfect for when adventuring around the island whether you're exploring Volcano National Park, snorkeling in the thermal waters at Kapoho or exploring the breathtaking views & waterfalls up the Hamakua coast. The bungalows exquisitely designed are super comfortable. You can see & feel the love & attention to details the owners took in building this place. The landscaping is in balance with nature and is very grounding to the soul. A soak in the hot & well maintained jacuzzi is true treat for your body, especially in the evenings after venturing around the island. Every morning you will be served delicious homemade breakfast, accompanied with local fruits. The hospitality here is most gracious & welcoming! Mahalo Robert & Scott."  5 of 5 Stars

"We loved staying there. During these 5 nights we really appreciated the personalized service. Everything was so clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious, every day we had fresh fruit and fresh baked quiche, pancakes, or soufflé. This is the perfect place to relax after a day visiting The Volcano National Park." "Gotta tell you my stay here at the VMR was soooo wonderful!  I live on Oahu and just needed a nice quite short getaway from the city life I'm so glad I selected this retreat. The property is very well done & such a paradise! Love the morning coffee and breakfast goodies outside my bungalow each morning. My bungalow was very clean & cozy, and I love hearing the rain upon the roof top. I didn't wanna leave. Mahalo Robert & Scott for being such great hosts!... I'll be back with my BF someday soon!" 5 of 5 Stars

"Scott and Robert are such thoughtful and generous hosts.  I was welcomed with a glass of wine and a tour through the facilities (which includes a spiffy clean outdoor hot tub strategically located in the middle of the compound).  The rooms include brand-new, high-end appointments, a very comfy bed, and a waterfall shower.  Home cooked breakfast in the morning is great way to start the day.   If you are looking for a quiet, romantic, luxurious get away, this is your place.  It located about halfway between Hilo and the Volcano National Park. Strongly recommended!" 5 of 5 Stars

I loved every minute of this experience.  Super clean, incredibly freeing and the hosts were great!  I loved the spa, felt so peaceful and very relaxing.  The food was amazing!  It deserves more than 5 stars but that's all I could give. Do yourself a favor and experience what this gem of the Big Island has to offer... I Will definitely be back again!" 5 of 5 Stars

"Wow this place was amazing! So beautiful so peaceful and relaxing. Rooms are separate bungalows with bamboo ceilings and walls it looks so tropical but then you go inside and it's all modern and just plain classy. The beds were amazing we never slept so good nine hours each night. Also everything is super clean and beautiful design. They do a different gourmet breakfast every morning which is too hard to describe how good they were. This place is a little more costly but you definitely get what you pay for. Finally a gay men's resort that is high quality. Only stayed 3 nights but it was heaven and wish we had stayed all 7 nights of our trip. When we were there able to really decompress. Place is paradise and met another great couple there Kevin and Dane we went hiking with. We will always remember our stay."  5 of 5 Stars

"We loved our stay at Volcano Men's Retreat and will definitely come back and recommend it to our friends. The beautiful bamboo bungalows are immaculate, spotless and smell fresh and very clean. This may just have been the cleanest accommodations we have ever stayed in during our many travels. The gourmet breakfast was absolutely delicious! The beds are top of the line, super comfortable and the property is absolutely stunning. The property features a spa and we loved relaxing to the sound of the tropical forest and looking up into the stars while soaking our bodies after amazing hikes in the Volcano National Park. The location is ideal. 20 minutes to Hilo, 20 minutes to the Volcano National Park and far enough from highway 11 (just a few minutes drive) to enjoy absolute peace and quiet. The hosts, Robert and Scott, are super nice and far exceeded our expectations as hosts and owners. You will want to come back to this amazing place!"  5 of 5 Stars

"I stayed there overnight after visiting volcano national park. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. My bamboo bungalow was very nice and impeccably clean. The owners have a great story of building the retreat and were very personable. This is the nicest place I have even stayed in the Volcano area."  5 of 5 Stars

"This place rocks. Brand new. Very cool you get your own separate bungalow. Rooms are beautiful modern and immaculate clean. Place is like a small real resort.  Beds were awesome never slept so good. So use to hotels and B&B's having crappy beds. Place is so peaceful and beautiful and private with no screaming kids. Hot tub was very cool and a great spot for a couple be    ers.  The hosts made us amazing breakfast when we wanted it. Service was great.  We went hiking in Volcano Park and came back our room was cleaned but the surprise was our pile of dirty clothes on the floor had been washed folded and left on our bed..who ever does that? Only drawback was we stayed only 3 days instead of the whole time cause then we went to the Marriott and had screaming kids everywhere."  5 of 5 Stars

"You are gonna be in for a delightful stay with the owners of this most beautiful and peaceful resort. Excited to watch it come to life and looking forward to their opening. Can't wait to recommend friends to a resort that caters to your every need. NO hidden fees. NO secret check-in or check-out times. This is guaranteed going to be the HOT spot on the Big Island for travelers that want special attention. HOPE to come and lounge by the hot tub soon and celebrate their success. KUDOS Robert and Scott!!!"  5 of 5 Stars
